Alabama 251/Lindsay Lane Roundabout Work

Alabama 251 and Lindsay Lane intersection

UPDATE:  Contractor Grayson Carter has rescheduled construction of the temporary bypass lane on Nick Davis for Tuesday (June 15) and plans to finish it Wednesday (June 16). This bypass lane is to assist motorists traveling east on Nick Davis to navigate around vehicles turning onto Linton Road. Nick Davis is part of the detour for ALDOT's Alabama 251/Lindsay Lane roundabout project. ALDOT expects construction of the roundabout to take through this year. The temporary bypass will be in service during the roundabout project. During construction of the bypass, Nick Davis will be one lane on Tuesday and Wednesday during work hours. Grayson Carter has asked the Sheriff's Department to assist in directing traffic.

UPDATE: On May 24, 2021, the Athens City Council approved an agreement with Grayson Carter & Son to construct portions of a bypass lane at the intersection of Linton and Nick Davis roads for $49,000 to help move traffic.
